Project brief

​

The challenge for the design of the book cover was to create a seamless composite image. In order to achieve this, the light direction, perspective and color correction were taking into consideration.

Design rationale

​

This is a book cover with the composite of 5 photographic elements to create a fantastic or surreal style. The design is inspired by the Victorian setting from the story’s background and topic about the confinement of women’s subjectivity.

​

The components are inspired by the symbols of the story, showing the physical and mental restriction of the woman. The hand-written style of the typeface represents the protagonist’s desire to write as a way of expressing herself.
